A crossword is a grid of cells where words are written horizontally and vertically based on clues (definitions). Words cross each other through shared letters. On CrossWordUz you can solve ready-made crosswords about history, geography, science, sports, and more, or create your own.

In a regular crossword, clues are listed separately, while in a picture crossword each word's clue is placed directly inside a special "clue cell" next to the answer cells, with an arrow showing the writing direction. Some picture crosswords use an image instead of a text clue. On CrossWordUz, picture crosswords live in the same section as regular crosswords, as a distinct type.

Sudoku is a 9x9 grid divided into nine 3x3 boxes. The goal is to fill the grid with digits 1 through 9 so that no digit repeats in any row, column, or 3x3 box. The CrossWordUz sudoku generator offers puzzles at different difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard), with automatic checking and a timer.

Kakuro is sometimes called a "number crossword". Black cells show sum totals, and you fill the white cells with non-repeating digits from 1-9 that add up to those totals. It's a puzzle type that combines logical thinking with working with numbers.

You can browse crosswords and sudoku without registering, but to start solving, save your progress, earn points, leave comments, or use the wishlist, you need to create an account. You can register with either an email address or a phone number.

Both are supported. If you register with a phone number, a confirmation code (OTP) is sent via our Telegram bot. If you register with email, a confirmation link is sent to your inbox.

Yes, the site has a responsive design and works equally well on phones, tablets, and computers. Crossword and sudoku panels automatically adapt to smaller screens, and fullscreen and zoom controls are also available.

For each crossword and sudoku, the number of views, the number of people who started solving, and the number who successfully completed it are tracked separately. When you fully and correctly solve a crossword, it's marked as "solved". The number of hints you've used is also tracked on your profile.

Yes, logged-in users can use a limited number of word hints (reveal a whole word) and letter hints (reveal one letter) per crossword. The number of hints used is stored on the server, so refreshing the page can't be used to bypass the limit.

Most crosswords and sudoku are prepared by the site administration using the generator service. In addition, registered users can create their own crosswords and sudoku through the generator in the "Create" menu and save them to their profile.

Yes. Using the crossword or sudoku generator under the "Create" menu, you enter your own words or parameters, and a puzzle is generated automatically. The generator tries several times and keeps the attempt with the most words placed.

CrossWordUz correctly treats Uzbek alphabet digraphs — ch, sh, ng, o', g' (two-letter combinations representing a single sound) — as one logical letter and places them in a single cell, so word lengths and placement match real Uzbek spelling.

The site administration regularly adds new crosswords, picture crosswords, and sudoku. You can see the newest puzzles first in the "Crosswords" and "Sudoku" sections.

Yes, the "PDF" button on a crossword page lets you download the current crossword as a PDF and print it to solve on paper.
